Gender Identity Law in Latin America

On December 13^th, the bill that “Recognized and gives protection to de gender identity” will be voted in the Chilean Senate.

The rules that are being discussed today in the Chilean Senate Human Rights Commission and during these weeks may present new indications after the voting has been postponed, which includes the following subjects: definition of gender identity, people’s rights, sex ratification and its procedure, issuance of documents, underage and its judicial process and surgical interventions.
