2016 OECD indicators reflect Chile´s public health expenditure on 5%

The new edition of the Society at the Glance 2016, published by the OECD shows that Chile raised its public spending on health by 5% from 2005 to 2014. The report indicates that health expenditure per capita is around $1750 and the average of the OECD countries are at $3740 by 2015.

In addition, the report shows gender difference in health status, indicating that about 67% of men in Chile report having good health compared to 51% of women, so the OECD estimates Chile as one of the worst evaluated countries in the area with 25%, being over Japan and Korea where 35% of the people declare themselves to be in good health.
