Increase of 34% of new HIV cases in Chile

UNAIDS ‘new report on “Global Monitoring for AIDS 2017” positions Chile among the Latin American countries with the highest increase in new cases of HIV infection (34%) between 2010 and 2016. In addition, the report shows that for the 2016 in Latin America 1.8 million people had the virus, the document also states that four out of five people with the virus is aware of their health status and 72% have access to treatment.
